Nicolas Bechtel Celebrates His Anniversary at GENERAL HOSPITAL — See How He’s Grown up on Screen!

Tags:

Social media has been around long enough now to remind users of some major milestones in their lives, and Nicolas Bechtel was reminded by the appearance of a baby-faced headshot of himself from years ago that April 10 was when he first started on GENERAL HOSPITAL! “Six years ago today i became Spencer Cassadine,” he marveled as he shared the image on Twitter. “I have loved and appreciated every second of it.” And then he added the hashtag “#56yearsstrong” for the soap’s recently-celebrated 56th anniversary on the air.

The little Cassadine prince has gone through quite a lot during his years on GH. Bechtel took over the role in 2013, and became a fan-favorite as viewers watched him judge the many loves of his father, Nikolas, spar with the evil Helena, develop a crush on Josslyn, fight with Cameron, and plot against Valentin! Bechtel appeared regularly until 2015 when he landed a starring role on the Disney Channel series STUCK IN THE MIDDLE, at which point Spencer went off to school and only made sporadic visits to Port Charles.

Fans have watched Bechtel literally grow up on screen, but you can also see how much he’s matured by browsing our special gallery below of some of Spencer’s most memorable moments!

Please join us in wishing Bechtel a very happy GH anniversary, and we all look forward to more years of Spencer causing trouble in Port Charles! For more on your favorite GH stars, keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
