Soap Stars Reunite for a Great Cause — See the Pics!
The long-running Daytime Stars and Strikes event was held on Oct. 7 and 8 in New York City and gave fans the opportunity to spend the weekend with their favorite stars from GUIDING LIGHT, AS THE WORLD TURNS, GENERAL HOSPITAL, and ONE LIFE TO LIVE during four separate events!
First was a play reading with an intimate meet and greet Q&A session afterward, followed by a concert featuring Bradley Cole (Richard/Jeffrey, GL) and friends. Then the next day was the Daytime Stars and Strikes Bowling for Autism event with the fifth annual “Bauer” Barbecue later in the afternoon.
It was a fantastic weekend that not only brought fans back in touch with the stars from the soaps they miss so much but it also raised over $35K for the Autism Society of America and the Jerry verDorn Scholarship fund. The late verDorn, who played Ross on GL, always co-hosted this annual event with castmate and friend Liz Keifer (Blake). After his passing, the scholarship fund was established to help send children with autism to theatre camps tuition-free.
