DAYS OF OUR LIVES Stars Pay Tribute to John Aniston

Kind. Funny. Compassionate. The consummate professional. These are all words that came up over and over again as stars from DAYS OF OUR LIVES flooded social media to share their memories and appreciation of the late John Aniston (Victor), who passed away on Nov. 11.

“It is truly unimaginable to think he won’t be stepping foot on our set again, but it’s comforting to all of us to know that he is at rest and no longer in pain,” shared DAYS executive producer Ken Corday in a statement. “John was one of the best — kind, smart, witty, and incredibly talented. It is enormously fitting that he received the Emmy for Lifetime Achievement this past year. There is no question that all of us at DAYS will be mourning this great and profound loss. John was an icon, but even more so, he was a pillar of strength and unity for our DAYS OF OUR LIVES community. He, along with our Victor Kiriakis, will forever be in our hearts. Our love and support goes out to his family and all those who knew him.”

The news of Aniston’s death at the age of 89 was announced by his daughter, actress Jennifer Aniston. Although the actor had a prolific career in television, he was best known to audiences as Salem villain Victor, a role he’d played for over 30 years. He received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category in 2017 and, this past June took home a Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades of work as the legendary character on the NBC soap.

On its social media channels, DAYS posted the video tribute that was shown at the 2022 Daytime Emmy Awards to highlight Aniston’s life, career, and legacy. “Our hearts are broken over the loss of our beloved family member, John Aniston,” the soap wrote in a touching message that accompanied the video. “We love you, John. Your legend will live on.”
