Maurice Benard’s Birthday Reunion With Old GH Friends!

You only turn 60 once in a lifetime — and the evening before daytime legend Maurice Benard (Sonny) reached that milestone on March 1, he celebrated in grand style surrounded by some of his old GENERAL HOSPITAL pals!

At the intimate birthday dinner, Benard was joined by his wife, Paula, son Joshua (who recurs as GH’s Adam), and several old GH friends — Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda), Michael Sutton (ex-Stone), former executive producer Wendy Riche, and former producers Shelley Curtis Litvack and Julie Hanan Carruthers. “Thank you for the incredible time last night,” Benard captioned one of the many photos from the dinner party shared on Instagram Stories. “It was memorable.”

    Marcil joked in the text of one of her Insta Stories that Sutton was her “baby daddy finally revealed.”

    After the party, Marcil shared heartfelt words about Riche and Litvack. “Happy birthday, Maurice,” Marcil wrote. “These women gave me my first acting job. Between us all in this magic era, we won about 30 Emmys during our run together. 30 years later, we still cry when we see each other.”

    The guest of honor took a selfie with Riche and Litvack. “I had the greatest time with the greatest friends, the greatest atmosphere, on my birthday,” Benard shared on Twitter. “I am living the Vida Loca loca. Thank you, Wendy.”
