Who Is Edmund Crumb on DAYS OF OUR LIVES?
The appearance of Edmund Crumb on DAYS OF OUR LIVES delighted some longtime fans while making newer viewers wonder who the heck the guy is! Well, we’re here to help. The character first appeared back in 1998 and was played by actor Adam Caine, who reprised his role again for another stint beginning with the Sept. 27, 2023 episode!
Edmund Crumb was introduced when Susan Banks fled Salem with her son, Elvis (later renamed EJ DiMera), and hid out in a pub owned by Edmund’s mother, Violet. The pair met and fell in love, but as he bought a ring and prepared to pop the question, Edmund discovered Susan had returned to Salem and was stuck there as a suspect in the murder of Kristen DiMera.
The besotted Edmund flew to Salem to propose to Susan, who seemed oddly reluctant to tie the knot. After their wedding, she continued to insist that they move out of town and it was eventually revealed that Susan wasn’t Susan at all but Kristen in disguise! Then, Edmund confessed that he had accidentally murdered Kristen! However, when the real Susan showed up, it turned out that the woman Edmund had killed was actually another Kristen look-alike named Penelope Kent.
After everything was cleared up, Edmund and Susan were finally married and they moved to London to raise Elvis. In 2014, Susan returned to Salem to warn EJ that he was in danger. While they were still married at that time, it was later reported that they had divorced.
In September 2023, Harris Michaels was helping Ava Vitale search for Susan, who everyone believed was dead but who Ava remembered seeing alive after the car crash. Psychic messages led the pair to London, and scone crumbs on Ava’s plate inspired a search that pointed them toward Edmund!
Stay tuned to DAYS to see what connection Edmund has to Susan’s disappearance!
