During a recent podcast interview, Greg Vaughan (Eric) revealed that he was leaving DAYS OF OUR LIVES! Chatting with former GENERAL HOSPITAL co-stars Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) about his career from modeling to GH — where he played Lucky — to DAYS and QUEEN SUGAR, he spilled the beans. “I’ve finished my reign at DAYS,” he reported.
Vaughan made his daytime debut as Diego on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS before moving to GH to play Lucky and then joining the cast of DAYS in 2012. “For all my DAYS fans that are listening, I love you all,” he declared. “It’s never over, so I’m not going to say it’s over. I’m taking a break, if you will.”
The Daytime Emmy winner also explained that it was his decision to step down and exit the NBC sudser. “DAYS was going through a renewal negotiation,” he added, “and not knowing where they were going to go and… um, I just felt my time… was coming to an end, anyway.”
Vaughan did not reveal when his final air date might be, and as viewers know, he’s still airing on the soap right now. In fact, Eric just recently married Nicole, so perhaps the couple will leave Salem together to live happily ever after? Stay tuned to find out!
