Jaime Lyn Bauer Returns to DAYS OF OUR LIVES

A familiar face will be back in Salem in February! Jaime Lyn Bauer is returning to DAYS OF OUR LIVES as Laura Horton! “I shot six shows for DAYS in the beginning of December,” the actress revealed on Facebook. “The shows begin airing on Feb. 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11.” Of course, those dates are subject to change, but fans can look forward to seeing Laura in Salem for another visit in the first half of next month.

The character of Laura Spencer Horton first appeared on DAYS back in 1966, and was originally played by actress Floy Dean. Future THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL star Susan Flannery (ex-Stephanie) stepped into the role from late 1966 until 1975. Bauer took over the role when the character returned to the canvas in 1993 after 13 years away. Although her full-time run came to an end in 1999, Bauer has reprised the role occasionally in the years since, most recently in May 2018 when the psychiatrist invited Abigail to come to Boston with her for treatment. Perhaps she can help her granddaughter with her latest crisis?

Bauer is no stranger to the world of daytime, having also played Lorie Brooks on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS from 1973-82. But returning to DAYS to work during the ongoing global pandemic meant the veteran actress had to make some adjustments beyond just the daily COVID-19 testing. “A mask is worn everywhere,” she revealed. “Rehearsing your lines with another actor happens over the phone. Once you are called to your set, your mask can only be taken off once you are on your set and doing your camera rehearsal.

“We come into the studio already having done our own makeup and hair (to the best of our ability),” Bauer added, “as we can only be in a makeup or hair chair for 15 minutes! And they set timers! The strange new world of Hollywood!”
