More BEYOND SALEM Casting News Including a Sonny Recast!
The more we learn about DAYS OF OUR LIVES: BEYOND SALEM, the more exciting it sounds! On top of the stars from the long-running NBC soap who have already been announced for the five-episode spinoff to air on Peacock, even more names have been revealed featuring some all-time Salem faves! Thaao Penghlis and Leann Hunley will be reprising their roles as Tony and Anna DiMera, and Christie Clark and Austin Peck will be back as Carrie and Austin Reed!
In addition, Chandler Massey will be returning as Will Horton, and Greg Rikaart (Kevin, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) will be resurfacing as the troublemaking Leo Stark! Sonny Kiriakis will also be a part of the limited series, however, the role will now be played by Y&R alum Zack Tinker (ex-Fen). The character of Sonny had previously been played by Freddie Smith from 1991 through 2020 when he exited DAYS.
BEYOND SALEM will be centered around Lisa Rinna’s character of Billie Reed as she travels the globe in search of stolen jewels which could have dangerous consequences for Salem. So fans can look forward to Billie interacting with John, Marlena, Abe, Paulina, Ben, Ciara, Sonny, Will, Carrie, Austin, and more when the five-episode limited-series premieres soon on NBC’s streaming channel Peacock.
