Precious Way Says Goodbye to DAYS OF OUR LIVES

The recast of Chanel on DAYS OF OUR LIVES isn’t happening until Tuesday, July 6, but departing actress Precious Way had to express her feelings the week before. “I was going to wait to post this but I’m emotional today,” she confessed on Instagram, sharing a selfie of herself with some of her castmates as well as other images and videos from her run. “I’m really going to miss you all and this entire experience.

“Chanel was my first TV role,” Way continued. “I was scared, excited, nervous, and unbelievably grateful all at the same time. I gained so much respect for everyone I had the absolute pleasure of working with on this show. Thank you all for being so welcoming and teaching me so much! It was such a pleasure.”

Way made her daytime debut as the daughter of Jackée Harry’s Paulina in the March 25, 2001 episode of DAYS and Chanel made a big splash in Salem as she tried scamming her way into money through various means, including marrying a drunken Xander! Her final episode will air on Monday, July 5, and the following day, Raven Bowens will be taking over the role to continue telling Chanel’s story.

No official reason for the recast has been given, although last summer, it was announced that Way had been cast to star alongside rap legend MC Lyte in the upcoming TV series PARTNERS IN RHYME. In it, Way will play Luscious T, an up-and-coming high-school rapper who thinks she’s the next big thing. The series is currently filming and is slated to debut on the AMC Networks streaming channel ALLBLK this November.

So fans can look forward to enjoying Way in her new role in PARTNERS IN RHYME while also enjoying Bowens as she takes over the role of Chanel on DAYS.
