Steve Burton Previews His Return!

Tags:

Now that Steve Burton has announced that his first episode back at DAYS OF OUR LIVES is going to be airing on Monday, March 20, he’s ready to preview what fans can expect to see from Harris Michaels this time around! The actor sat down with friend and co-star Wally Kurth (Justin) for a fun little interview looking back on Harris in the ‘80s, his recent return, and where Harris goes from here!

Burton made his daytime debut as Harris Michaels on DAYS back in 1988 and went on to find success (and Daytime Emmy Awards) playing Jason Morgan on GENERAL HOSPITAL and Dylan McAvoy on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS.

“Dylan was troubled, Jason was troubled, and now Harris is kind of in between those two,” Burton mused. “Because he’s a Navy SEAL and he’s fighting some demons. But he’s also a good guy. He’s been a bad guy. So we’ll see what happens.”

Burton reprised the role of Harris for the second season of the DAYS spinoff BEYOND SALEM where the guy found himself brainwashed by the villainous Megan Hathaway to help her retrieve the three prisms. Harris was forced to seduce Hope which let Burton work with Kristian Alfonso.

“We really were thrown right into the fire,” he revealed. “As you know we don’t shoot anything in order. So one of my first days was with her and we had all this highly emotional stuff and I didn’t know her. She has amazing eyes as an actress and that’s what I kind of locked in on and it was a great day.”

Along with Bo and Hope, Harris is heading back to Salem to continue the storyline that kicked off in BEYOND SALEM. “I think the reason Harris is coming back to Salem is for redemption,” Burton declared. “Because of all the bad things he did, he wants to make it right. So that’s why he’s coming home to Salem.”

But can Harris make things right or will he just make things worse? “We’ll see!” Burton teased. Stay tuned! (And check out the full conversation below!)
