Holly was meant to return to GENERAL HOSPITAL on April 14, but a preemption for breaking news coverage bumped her comeback episode to Monday, April 17. But a weekend isn’t too long to wait for fans who have been eagerly awaiting her return since she left back in November 2022. Because there’s a lot of her story left to tell!
After her brief stint in fall 2022, Emma Samms revealed that she would be happy to return for another short-term stint. Of course, this is dependent on scheduling, her traveling from her home in England to GH’s studio in California, as well as balancing work with her ongoing battle with Long COVID.”I’m very lucky that my husband, Simon [McCoy] is able to come with me and do some work from here,” Samms confided to Soap Opera Digest. “That has made all the difference, really.”
Samms was delighted to return to the soap where she originated the role of Holly Sutton back in 1982, something she has done multiple times over the years. “It has been and continues to be a joy for me to work on this show,” the actress admitted. “I feel so comfortable there. Everyone’s so welcoming to me.”
In recent episodes, Felicia declared that she knew someone who could help them stop Victor, and that person is Holly, who has run off to South America in search of her son, Ethan, who was abducted by the Cassadine to force her to do his bidding. And Felicia arrives to give her a hand!
“As it turns out, they’re a very good team,” Samms previewed. “You’ll see that the scenes are both funny and very dramatic, and I think that’s one thing that GH strives for, which is to have both humor and high-stakes drama. It’s a great, great story and again, very fast-paced.”
So stay tuned to see how Holly factors into the quest to stop Victor before it’s too late!
