Exclusive First Look: Ellen Travolta’s Return to GENERAL HOSPITAL

Longtime fans were excited when it was announced that Ellen Travolta would be returning to GENERAL HOSPITAL as Lois’ mom, Gloria Cerullo, and now ABC has shared a sneak peek at her first episode back!

For the first time in years, GH will be airing on Thanksgiving, and Travolta will first appear in the episode airing on Thursday, Nov. 23. But if you can’t wait, we’ve got a little taste for you right here! While not Gloria’s very first scene, it’s a great showcase for the character and why she’s so unique.

Having played Gloria back in the mid-90s, Travolta still found returning to the GH studio like coming home again. “The minute I walked on that set and saw Wally [Kurth, Ned] and one of the stage managers I’d known before, one of the camera people I’d known before, it was like no time had passed,” the actress told Soap Opera Digest. “It’s the same studio, which is also where I’d done WELCOME BACK KOTTER years and years ago. So I had this feeling of nostalgia and comfort and I felt that I was being welcomed, that they were pleased and very happy that I was there.”

While Travolta’s visit will be short, she’ll be sticking around for a few more episodes after Thanksgiving, so stay tuned to see what happens!
