Nancy Lee Grahn Is Not Leaving GENERAL HOSPITAL
The April 8 episode centered around Alexis preparing to head off to prison had some fans wondering “Is Nancy Lee Grahn leaving GENERAL HOSPITAL?” Well, while live-tweeting along with viewers during the show, the actress reassured those who asked, “I’m not going anywhere.”
While shipping a character off to prison could mean that the actor is being written off the soap or just taking some time off for a vacation or something, both Grahn and Alexis are not going anywhere. “You’ll see me in prison tomorrow,” she told a concerned fan. “It’s not a good day for Alexis.”
In fact, GH recently announced the casting of Sydney Walsh as the character of Maggie, another prisoner that Alexis will be interacting with while in Pentonville. The soap has also announced the return of Sean Blakemore as Shawn Butler, who has been stuck in prison for years for a crime he didn’t commit. And though in real life, male and female prisoners don’t mix, as we all know, soap operas don’t always follow the rules of reality!
So fans can look forward to seeing much more of the Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress as she continues to play Alexis and we watch her navigate life behind bars. And while Alexis has been sentenced to three years in Pentonville, Grahn reminded, “Remember, it’s soap years.” So with good behavior, she could be out in three months! You never know!
The April 8 episode was a special show celebrating Grahn’s 25 years on GH, and there are many more years to come. “No end in sight,” she declared with a laugh. “They’ll have to drag me out kicking and screaming.” So keep watching GH to see Alexis’ story continue to unfold day after day!
