Fans who are missing Nicolas Bechtel as Spencer on GENERAL HOSPITAL can look forward to seeing the talented young actor on screen again in the first season finale of AMERICAN HORROR STORIES which premieres Thursday, Aug. 19, streaming on Hulu! “It’s here!” he enthused on Instagram.
AMERICAN HORROR STORIES is a spinoff of the popular AMERICAN HORROR STORY, and is an anthology series featuring a different scary story each episode. The seventh and final episode of the first season is titled “Game Over” and returns to the Murder House featured in the two-part season premiere as a couple dares to spend the night in the infamous haunted house. Along with returning cast members from the first story, Dylan McDermott reprises his role of Dr. Ben Harmon from the first season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY. Bechtel is credited as playing Rory, though nothing is known about his character at this time. Hopefully, he makes it out alive! (Though that’s not particularly likely…)
Bechtel became a GH fan favorite when he joined the soap back in 2013 as young Spencer Cassadine, and he played the role on and off over the years, earning a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Younger Actor in 2016. His last appearance was in 2020 and the following year, the role was recast with Nicholas Alexander Chavez. Also, AMERICAN HORROR STORIES isn’t even the first time that Bechtel has worked with series creator Ryan Murphy — he played a young Rob Kardashian in THE PEOPLE V. O.J. SIMPSON: AMERICAN CRIME STORY!
AMERICAN HORROR STORIES is currently streaming on Hulu, so you can watch Bechtel’s episode any time… as long as you’re not too scared!
