OLTL’S David A. Gregory Mourns the Death of His Father

Please join us in sending love to daytime alum David A. Gregory as he mourns the passing of his beloved father, Wayne Anderson Gregory, who passed away on Nov. 14, 2023, at the age of 68.

“I didn’t realize what a tectonic shift could be cost by a tear-open of heaven,” Gregory wrote in memory of his dad in a heartfelt Instagram post. “Godspeed, indeed, this was the fastest life. Dad, you gang the sun — what these sons wouldn’t give for one more hang. However you read/read it, it(s) still tears/tears. Rest, King.”

In the carousel of Instagram photos that the actor shared, he wanted to make sure everyone saw one in particular. “Peep the Jerry Lewis Nutty Professor teeth he had made in that fourth slide,” Gregory said. “God, I love him.”

Back in February, Gregory admitted that his father had been almost non-verbal for a while as he was suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia, but shared a beautiful video where the two exchanged “I love yous.”

Soap fans remember Gregory best as the hunky Robert Ford on ONE LIFE TO LIVE, a role which he played from 2009 until the final episode in 2012. Since then, the actor has been seen in episodes of shows like ELEMENTARY, CONSTANTINE, THE GOOD FIGHT, BULL, and UNCOUPLED. Gregory also created the award-winning scripted podcast Powder Burns, starring his OLTL dad, John Wesley Shipp (Eddie).

Our thoughts are with Gregory and his entire family during this difficult time.
