While Usher is best known as a Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and dancer, he’s also an actor who has appeared in movies like The Faculty, She’s All That, and Muppets Most Wanted as well as television series such as MOESHA, SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH, and 7TH HEAVEN, and SOUL FOOD. However, longtime THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL fans will remember him from his stint as Raymond!

As Usher prepares to headline the halftime show at Super Bowl LVIII where the San Fransisco 49ers face off against the Kansas City Chiefs, CBS decided to remind viewers of his stint in daytime by posting a scene from the soap. In the brief clip, Amber recognizes Raymond as he is being hounded for autographs and he flashes her a winning smile.

Usher joined the cast of B&B back in June 1998 as a special guest to play the role of Raymond King, an old friend of Amber Moore’s who had become a singer. When they reminisced about the good old days, they ended up sleeping together. But Amber didn’t remember their drunken night together and assumed she was pregnant with Rick Forrester’s baby. Awkward!

Usher was only on from June to August 1998 when the story kicked off. When the character returned to the canvas in 1999 for the scenes where Raymond learned he could potentially be a father, the role was recast with actor Karim Prince.

So when you watch Raymond — er, Usher — performing during the spectacular Super Bowl halftime show, remember his humble beginnings!
