Y&R Alum Donny Boaz Cast in a New HBO Series
Characters keep talking about Chase on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS but fans who miss seeing actor Donny Boaz in the role can look forward to seeing him on screen again very soon! “I booked a few episodes on the upcoming HBO series THE STAIRCASE based on the documentary of the same name about the author, Michael Peterson, and the death of his wife, Kathleen Peterson,” he revealed on Instagram. “20 years later, we still don’t know the truth about what happened.”
Michael Peterson is a novelist who was convicted in 2003 of murdering his second wife, Kathleen, in December 2001. After eight years, he was granted a new trial and in 2017 submitted a new plea to the reduced charge of manslaughter where he was sentenced to time already served and freed. Colin Firth will be playing Michael Peterson in THE STAIRCASE and Toni Collette has been cast as his wife, Kathleen. The cast also includes Juliette Binoche, Sophie Turner, Parker Posey, and Dane DeHaan.
“Great cast,” Boaz enthused of everyone involved. “Happy to be a part of this project. Great week of work.” Unfortunately, there is no information about who he will be playing in the eight-episode HBO limited series, and the Y&R alum didn’t share anything himself. But he’s in very good company!
Boaz also recently taped some episodes of the CW primetime drama ALL AMERICAN, the first of which aired at the end of May. He is playing Jacob, Asher’s future stepfather. His IMDb page also lists numerous other projects that are either in production or post-production, so the actor has been keeping very busy since leaving Y&R where he’d been playing Chance Chancellor from November 2019 until February 2021.
