Hunter King & Chandler Massey Preview Their Romantic New Movie!
The stars of the all-new Hallmark Channel movie, The Professional Bridesmaid, are two faces very familiar to soap watchers. The film stars Hunter King (ex-Summer, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) as Maggie, a professional bridesmaid, and Chandler Massey (ex-Will, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) as Henry, an ambitious reporter from whom she is trying to hide the truth that she’s a bridesmaid-for-hire!
After realizing years ago that she was an ace bridesmaid, Maggie went pro in offering one-on-one support to brides on their big day. Her latest client, Alexis, is the daughter of Columbus’ mayor — and since it’s an election year, Alexis’ wedding is sure to be the event of the summer. To make sure that the day goes off without a hitch, the mayor’s office hires Maggie as a bridesmaid to keep everything on track as she hides her true identity while pretending to be Alexis’ old friend, Maisie. But Maggie’s assignment gets complicated when Henry, a handsome reporter, starts sniffing around, hoping to get close to the mayor for a story scoop.
In an on-location video shared by Hallmark, King and Massey gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at their new movie and some insight into their characters. “A wedding planner handles logistics and vendors, but a professional bridesmaid is all about taking care of the bride,” King explained. “Maggie is just so used to making sure that everything is taken care of and everything is organized. It gets a little bit tricky when she meets this guy named Henry.”
Added Massey, “Henry is a hard-nosed reporter and is now covering a wedding for the first time. He meets Maggie and she kind of brings a more playful side out of him.”
King admitted during a Facebook Live chat with Massey that Maggie and Henry’s meet-cute — when the characters literally collide in a park while she’s running and he’s biking — “is my absolute favorite scene” of the movie.
Despite their unfortunate first encounter, a friendship grows between “Maisie” and Henry as he helps her with Alexis’ wedding planning… which eventually turns into more! “They’ve got chemistry,” Massey shared during the Live chat with his co-star. “It’s that dance where you’re trying to be professional, but you like somebody.”
