Redding Munsell Is the New Harrison on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS!
Kyle’s little boy is about to get a new look soon on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, as the soap has recast the role of Harrison Abbott with Redding Munsell!
The 8-year-old will assume the role of Harrison on Y&R’s Friday, April 12, episode, replacing Kellen Enriquez, who originated the role in May 2021. While the soap will mark the young actor’s daytime debut, he has a previous soap connection: He appeared as Jake, the son of GUIDING LIGHT alum Brittany Snow (Susan), in Red, White, and Blue, which was nominated this year for Best Live Action Short Film at the 96th Academy Awards.
Additionally, Munsell will appear opposite Sylvia Hoeks in Huricanna, the upcoming biopic about Anna Nicole Smith; Heoks headlines the feature film as the troubled model and actress while Munsell will play a young version of her son, Daniel.
The character of Harrison was first introduced three years ago. At the time, Harrison’s mom, Tara Locke, was revealed to be the married woman with whom Kyle had an affair while he was living in New York City. At first, Kyle didn’t know that his former fling had a child, but once he saw photos of Harrison, he was sure the boy was his. Especially since he knew for certain that Tara hadn’t been having marital relations with her husband, Ashland Locke, during the time that they were involved! Of course, Tara eventually admitted the truth about Harrison’s parentage, and the tyke ended up living with his dad and stepmom Summer after Tara was arrested for embezzlement.
Recently, Harrison’s life has been in a bit of upheaval: His nanny had to leave town to care for her ill mother. As co-parents, Kyle and Summer have been trying to find a suitable replacement. Unfortunately, Harrison hasn’t seemed to connect with any of the potential prospects, but does seem to get along well with Claire! Stay tuned to see if Kyle and Summer are willing to put aside their concerns about Claire and offer her the job!
