Who Does Sharon Really Love on Y&R? – Sharon Case Speaks Out! (EXCLUSIVE)
Sharon has been involved with many different men over the years on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, but who is her Mr. Right? Soaps In Depth decided to ask the person who probably knows her best, portrayer Sharon Case! “Nick and Adam are the loves of her life,” the actress admitted. “I think that’s always been true for Sharon and I think it will always be true.”
Unfortunately, that doesn’t bode well for her current husband, Rey, who overcame his jealousy of Adam to marry Sharon only to realize he will never truly win her heart. “The character wasn’t put there intending for the character to compete,” Case argued. “The character was put there to tell a story in between Sharon being with one of the loves of her life. And that’s an important story, too.”
Sharon has a lot of history with Nick, and a couple of kids, so their love is deep. But she also has history with Adam and their love is passionate. So which wins out in the end? “That’s a very tricky question for a lot of people,” Case mused. “They ask themselves, ‘Am I supposed to be with the man who is my friend? Because isn’t that what a relationship is, anyway? But isn’t my love affair supposed to be where my passion is?’ And the two don’t usually come in the same person, unfortunately, for a lot of people.”
With Sharon having survived breast cancer and come out the other side stronger than before, she may have a different perspective on what she wants out of life now. And sadly, Rey may no longer factor into her plans. “Maybe what that decision will come down to is who is Sharon now?” Case suggested. “And which one does she really need and what really belongs in her life as we move into this new chapter.”
So while Sharon seems to be tossing Rey aside to rekindle her passion with Adam, you can’t really count Nick out completely because of the history and feelings that they share. “In true soap opera form, the question that’s up in the air is well, who will it be?” Case teased. “If the show were to end, would it be Nick or would it be Adam? It would be one of them, that’s for sure.” Then the actress laughed as she added, “But hopefully, the show will never end, so we’ll never know!”
