From Pine Valley to Oak Bluffs! ALL MY CHILDREN fan-favorite Debbi Morgan (Angie) is starring in the upcoming primetime soap OUR KIND OF PEOPLE, premiering on FOX on Tuesday, Sept. 21! “Join me and all the cast for this thrilling ride,” the veteran actress enthused sharing a behind-the-scenes promotional video on her Instagram. “We won’t disappoint!”

The series, from the executive producer of EMPIRE and STAR, is inspired by Lawrence Otis Graham’s critically-acclaimed book, Our Kind of People: Inside America’s Black Upper Class. It centers around the character of Angela Vaughn, played by Yaya DaCosta, who is a single mother who moves her family to a vineyard with the hopes of taking her natural hair care line to the next level by infiltrating the African American elite community in the area. Morgan is playing her aunt, Patricia, who also goes by Aunt Piggy.

“This show takes place in the elite community known as Oak Bluffs in Martha’s Vinyard,” Morgan revealed in the video. “Angela Vaughn comes to this community to establish a black hair care product business in a property that has been left to her by her mother. The drama ensues when the rich, wealthy socialite Leah Dupont refuses to accept either her or her family into the community. And after that, all kinds of juicy plot twists explode!”

And after spending decades on daytime dramas like AMC, GENERATIONS, LOVING, THE CITY, PORT CHARLES, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, and THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, Morgan certainly knows all about juicy plot twists!

OUR KIND OF PEOPLE also stars Kyle Bary, Morris Chestnut, Lance Gross, Nadine Ellis, and Joe Morton among its talented cast. The series will air at 9 p.m. ET on FOX on Tuesday nights, and you can tune in to the splashy series premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 21. But first, check out the behind-the-scenes video to get a sneak peek of all the drama, romance, and backstabbing!
