Susan Lucci’s Exciting New Role!
Soap fans have been eagerly waiting for Susan Lucci to reprise her iconic role of Erica Kane in the ALL MY CHILDREN primetime reboot PINE VALLEY, but there have been no new reports of forward movement on that particular project. But the daytime legend is still keeping plenty busy in the meantime and she just landed a role in the upcoming film Outcome!
Deadline is reporting that writer/director Jonah Hill has just cast a bunch of new actors for his dark comedy for Apple and it includes Lucci as well as David Spade, Laverne Cox, Kaia Gerber, Roy Wood, Jr., and Atsuko Okatsuka. The ensemble cast also includes Cameron Diaz and Matt Bomer (Ben, GUIDING LIGHT).
Keanu Reeves stars in Outcome as Reef, a former Hollywood star who must plumb the darkness in his past to face his demons and make things right after a video from his past resurfaces and is used to extort him. There is no information yet as to who Lucci’s character will be, but we can totally see her playing a divalicious actress who had previously worked with Reef. Though maybe Hill will surprise us and cast Lucci against type!
Lucci became a star playing Erica on ALL MY CHILDREN for its entire run from 1970-2011, earning 21 Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress and taking home the prize in 1999. She has also starred in the Lifetime series DEVIOUS MAIDS, hosted the true crime series DEADLY AFFAIRS, played Annie Oakley on Broadway, and competed in season seven of DANCING WITH THE STARS.
As Outcome is still casting and has not yet begun filming, there’s obviously no information on when the movie will be released. But we’ll be sure to let you know later this year when and where you can see it just as soon as it’s announced!
