Soap fans know Jacob Young best from his performances as Lucky on GENERAL HOSPITAL, JR on ALL MY CHILDREN, and Rick on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, but the actor is now stepping behind the camera to direct his first movie! The actor shared a pic of himself scouting locations in Prague for the upcoming film Murder Between Friends.

“I can’t tell you how excited I am to be acting, producing, and making my directorial debut,” Young exclaimed. “It’s been a long time coming, but with patience and hard work, anything is possible!”

Murder Between Friends stars Dame Joan Collins (Alexandra, GUIDING LIGHT) as Francesca Carlyle, a legendary television star who solves a murder mystery at her country estate. The cast also includes a former star of the UK soap EASTENDERS, Toby Alexander Smith (ex-Gray), as well as DAYS OF OUR LIVES alum Nadia Bjorlin (ex-Chloe).

“I hired her to play my love interest in the film and this is a really cool project,” Young revealed to Soap Opera Digest. “We’ve already rented the castle that we’re shooting at.”

Since leaving daytime behind, Young has appeared in television movies like The Road Home for Christmas and Fatal Following as well as in episodes of series like THE WALKING DEAD and HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: THE MUSICAL: THE SERIES.

In recent years, the actor has turned to producing (such as in the film Four for Fun) and now plans to try his hand at directing. We’ve no doubt he’s going to prove a success there as well, so keep checking back here at SoapsInDepth.com for future updates on Murder Between Friends and we’ll be sure to let you know when and where you can watch it!
