Anthony Geary Invites You to Tour Amsterdam With Him (EXCLUSIVE)

It was a few years ago when Anthony Geary (ex-Luke, GENERAL HOSPITAL) had a generous idea for his fans: He asked his friend, photographer Jim Warren, if he’d be interested in shooting a video of the place that he already had called home for many years: the beautiful city of Amsterdam! “Tony wanted to show everyone how incredible Amsterdam is and suggested I shoot a sort of travel video, with him being the tour guide!” explained Warren.

The Emmy Award winner didn’t have to ask twice. “I was about to make my annual Dutch summer trip, so I was all set,” Warren said. The final result was a 25-minute film titled Amsterdam: On The Move With Anthony Geary — reluctantly edited down from its original hour-plus version — which was turned into a DVD and sold independently. However, with most GH fans confined at home now, Warren decided to make it available online for them to see — and wholeheartedly got his longtime friend’s endorsement to do so. “I spoke to Tony and told him what I was doing,” Warren said, “and he said ‘Good!’ — and I was good to go.”

“Maybe,” Geary told Soaps In Depth, “the gentle canals of home will be peaceful and calming to people right now who are worried, depressed, and stressed out by this terrible pandemic.”

Geary — here at the helm of his personal boat — spent several days shooting in and around the canals in Amsterdam. “We used Tony’s own boat to film,” said Warren. “We had just one rule: not to shoot anything near his home.”

It’s always exciting when you hear the sound of a horse-drawn carriage approaching from a distance. “There was no way I was shooting in Amsterdam and not including them in the atmosphere,” explained Warren. When in the city, chances are you’ll encounter several on any given day.”
