GENERAL HOSPITAL Actress Susan Bernard Dead at 71
Actress Susan Bernard has died at the age of 71. Although best known for her starring role in Russ Meyer’s 1965 cult film, Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, she appeared in numerous films and television shows, including a stint on GENERAL HOSPITAL, where she played Beverly Cleveland Fairchild from 1968-69. Deadline is reporting that according to family spokesperson Siri Garber, Bernard died suddenly of an apparent heart attack on Friday, June 21.
In addition to her acting, Bernard was the daughter of Bruno Bernard, a Hollywood photographer famous for his iconic images of stars like Marilyn Monroe. She oversaw the use of his photos as the president of Bernard of Hollywood Publishing, building it into an international brand. She has also authored seven books including the bestseller, Marylin: Intimate Exposures.
Bernard is survived by her ex-husband, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and actor Jason Miller (The Exorcist) and their son, Joshua John Miller, as well as her sister, Celeste Bendel. Our thoughts are with her loved ones during this difficult time.
