Watch the Soapy New Pilot MELANGE
Soap fans are going to want to check out MELANGE, the sudsy new drama pilot that recently premiered on all LOGO TV digital portals. Created by award-winning theater producer and soap super-fan, Tom D’Angora, the show stars a host of familiar faces from daytime starting with its star, Morgan Fairchild. While she may be best known for her primetime work, daytime fans will remember her from her recent turn as Angelica on DAYS OF OUR LIVES or her role as Sydney Prescott on THE CITY. “I am so glad to be back wreaking havoc!” the actress declared.
The series centers around the fight for ownership of a historic NYC gay bar called Mélange. After the founder (played by GUIDING LIGHT‘s Robert Newman) dies mysteriously, his protégé, (ONE LIFE TO LIVE‘s Scott Evans) and estranged ex-wife (Fairchild) find themselves battling for control. “The world needs a show like MELANGE now more than ever,” creator D’Angora said. “It’s my hope that this delicious cast, led by the iconic Morgan Fairchild reading everyone in her path while plotting a hostile takeover, will allow people to escape reality, if only for a moment or two.”
Soap fans will enjoy seeing many stars in the show like Kristen Alderson (ex-Kiki, GENERAL HOSPITAL; Starr, OLTL), Jessica Leccia (Natalia, GL), David Gregory (Ford, OLTL), and Darnell Williams (Jesse, ALL MY CHILDREN). And while this is just a pilot, there is the definite possibility that the campy drama will continue.
“The pilot show that will air on LOGO this month is a calling card, if you will, a tasty little appetizer,” D’Angora promised. “If viewers like what they see, a full season, with additional exciting characters and stars dropping into Mélange, is very much in the works and will start filming the moment the lockdown is lifted.”
