Eden Riegel Shares a Beautiful Tribute to Her Mom
Soap alum Eden Riegel is paying tribute to a very special lady in her life: her mother, Lenore! The actress — whom daytime fans will remember from her ground-breaking role of Bianca on ALL MY CHILDREN as well as her turn as Heather on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS — took to Instagram to wish her mom a very happy birthday and shared just how much she looks up to her!
Posting a carousel of photos of her mother from over the years, Riegel began her sweet accolades. And also managed to sneak in a joke! “Today is my mother’s — the great Lenore Riegel — birthday! Which actually means it’s my birthday too, in a way. Since women are born with all their eggs, we were both born together! Isn’t it sneaky how I made her birthday about me? Incidentally, that means my grandmother carried us both — thanks Oma!”
After making her quip, Riegel took a more serious tone with her message, listing all the things that she admires about her mother. “I couldn’t be prouder to be this amazing woman’s daughter, and to have been there with her, in a way, throughout her brave, bold, courageous, adventurous life,” the Emmy winner continued. “She’s been a professional ballet dancer, an actor and model, a teacher, a muse, an entrepreneur, a director, a world traveler, an educator, a founder, a television producer, a muse again, a journalist, a manager, a publicist, a lawyer, a muse a few more times, a mother, a kick-ass grandmother, and through it all, a survivor.”
Lenore has accomplished so much in her lifetime that her daughter confessed she keeps telling her to write a book! But the way the actress described it, Lenore’s biggest accomplishment was raising Riegel and her brother Sam, who is also a performer, director, and writer. “Her crowning achievement is probably her parenting because her whole life she wanted to be a mom more than anything. And boy did she crush that!” Riegel enthused. “And she gives all of herself to her kids. I believe with my whole heart that she loves me more than anyone loves anyone. Just try to prove me wrong! That love has been my true North, the thing that steadies me and makes me certain I can make it through anything. It made me love myself. Unconditional love is so damn powerful, people!”
Wrapping up her post, the daytime alum concluded with a simple, yet incredibly heartfelt, message for Lenore. “I love you, mom. I wish you every happiness today and every day. Thank you for being my mom. I won the life lotto!”
