Y&R and B&B Are Preempted on Friday
Viewers were expecting that their favorite soaps would be preempted on Christmas and New Year’s Day, but we’ve got some bad news for CBS Daytime fans — THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL will actually be preempted on Friday, Dec. 29. But there’s a silver lining!
We say silver lining because while there will not be all-new episodes on that Friday, CBS is airing encore episodes that fans might want to tune in to enjoy anyway!
The Y&R episode will be from Oct. 13, 2003, where Ashley is losing her grip on reality, Nikki and Sharon vie for the position of top dog, and Kevin trashes Gina’s while Colleen is trapped in the freezer! If you want to relive the drama from 20 years ago, make sure to set your DVR because these encore episodes aren’t streaming on CBS.com or Paramount+!
B&B isn’t going back quite that far with their rerun, airing the climax of Forrester Creations’ trip to Rome. But fans can tune in to see Taylor worrying about losing Ridge as he reconnects with Brooke in Italy, and Liam’s reaction to spying Hope kissing Thomas!
While it might be disappointing to fans that the CBS soaps won’t be airing new episodes on Friday, on the plus side, they’ll be back with brand-new shows in the new year! So be sure to watch as the drama picks up right where it left off on Thursday, Dec. 28! (And double-check your DVRs just to be sure it’s set to record on Monday as preemptions often play havoc with the scheduling!)
