GH’s Finola Hughes and Kimberly McCullough Together Again!
On a recent episode of GENERAL HOSPITAL, Anna lamented that she hadn’t been able to spend any time with Robin and the grandkids over the holidays because she was on the run after being framed for Lucy’s murder. But in real life, Finola Hughes (Anna) reunited with her TV daughter, Kimberly McCullough (Robin) on Feb. 18!
The setting for the meet-up between the two fan favorites was the 75th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards, which was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. On Instagram, both of the actresses/directors shared a photo of them posing together on the red carpet. “Mother and daughter reunite at the DGA awards,” McCullough captioned the picture, adding two heart emojis to express her love for her former co-star. Hughes, meanwhile, simply announced, “Here we are,” in her post.
Seeing the Devane women together again certainly excited GH viewers, who flooded the comments section of both Hughes and McCullough’s posts with their hopes that a Port Charles reunion might soon follow. The pair’s reunion even got the stamp of approval from the youngest Devane woman, Brooklyn Rae Silzer, who played Robin’s daughter, Emma. “Miss you xoxo,” the teen wrote on McCullough’s post, along with a red heart emoji. To her TV grandmother, Silzer sent a “xoxo” with two red hearts which Hughes returned with an “xxx” of her own and a kissy face emoji.
McCullough, who has been working as a director since she stepped away from daytime, was at the ceremony to support her friend Tim Federle, who was up for an award in the children’s programming category for his work on the Disney+ series BETTER NATE THAN EVER. McCullough and Federle had previously worked together when she was part of his directing team for HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: THE MUSICAL: THE SERIES, for which they received an Emmy nomination last year. “So proud of my friend and mentor for his DGA nomination. Nobody deserves this praise more than you,” McCullough wrote, sharing a photo of her and Federle during the award ceremony’s dinner. “Love you, Tim.”
