Ian Buchanan and Finola Hughes Together Again!

Tags:

It was the reunion that GENERAL HOSPITAL fans have been dreaming of for years… even if it happened off-screen instead of in Port Charles! Duke and Anna were back together again when Ian Buchanan attended a show that Finola Hughes was directing and shared a snap on social media of the special moment where he and partner Antonio Hendricks caught up with her backstage.

“Congratulations!” Buchanan enthused. “Wonderful production of The Importance of Being Ernest! Loved it.” And in the comments, Hughes responded: “Thank you for coming!!!”

In addition to her work on GH, Hughes is also an adjunct lecturer at the USC School of Dramatic Arts, last year teaching a class called “Performance for Camera.” This year, she directed a student production of the classic play by Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Ernest.

The show ran from Jan. 26-30, and after their final performance, Hughes congratulated her talented students and expressed her gratitude. “We finished the run out with a bang!” she declared. “Thank you to this fabulous, talented company of actors! What a privilege to go with you on this journey! Thank you to all my friends and family who came to see the show. It meant so much that you came to share the experience.”

Buchanan wasn’t the only GH castmate who attended Hughes’ production. Cassandra James (Terry) shared: “I’m so glad I got to see this!” and Bonnie Burroughs (ex-Gladys) called it a “thrilling night at the theater” after she saw it on the 30th.

GH fans still miss Duke Lavery, who was killed off the soap back in 2015 shortly after he and Anna reaffirmed their love and performed a sultry tango at the Nurses Ball. While the guy has been dead for nearly a decade, it’s a soap, so plenty of fans wouldn’t mind whatever hoops the writers have to jump through in order to bring Duke back to the canvas again!
