GH's Josh Swickard Shares an Update With Fans

Social media is a great way for soap stars to share their lives with fans and stay in contact with them. But despite having an adorable new baby girl to share cute pictures of, GENERAL HOSPITAL star Josh Swickard (Chase) admitted he hasn’t been as active on Instagram lately as he could be. The actor sat down in his home sauna to shoot a sweaty Instagram Live and apologize to his fans while offering an update on the latest news in his life!

“I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with Instagram,” Swickard confessed. “But I also think that it’s a neat technology that we can connect and I can get to know you guys better and vice versa. There’s a lot of things that suck about social media that I think are so destructive to our society. But you guys are such a sweet fanbase and you’re so uplifting and it makes me want to get on here just to be around you guys. So I’m gonna try to do this more.”

He also promised that he and his wife, Lauren, would do another Instagram Live together very soon, where they will likely talk about their new holiday movie. City Lights, the sequel to their hit A California Christmas, will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, Dec. 16. “Mark your calendars!” he urged. “We are so excited for that.”

After mentioning that Lauren has been keeping very busy with multiple projects while also being “the best mom and the best wife,” Swickard gushed a little about his beautiful baby girl. “Savannah’s almost seven months old and it blows my mind,” he marveled. “She’s hitting that stage where she’s starting to crawl. She doesn’t fully crawl, but if we turn around for two seconds, she’s two feet away. It’s awesome. We’re loving it.”

During the video, he kept pausing his updates to read the multiple comments and questions that kept appearing from the fans watching the live stream, including a hello from Norway! “Hi!” Swickard responded before revealing: “My grandpa’s Norwegian and I’ve always wanted to go. I can’t remember what city my family’s from.”

Unfortunately for fans hoping for some scoop on upcoming twists and turns in Port Charles, Swickard didn’t spill much. “I’ve been working a lot on GH,” he reported. “It’s been awesome. When I get in the groove there it’s so hard to pull the blinders off. So yeah, there’s some fun things coming up on GH that I’m excited for you to see if you watch the show.”

Swickard closed out by promising to post more on Instagram and that this video was a way of putting that out into the world so he has to stick to it! And we’re looking forward to seeing more adorable pics of Savannah very soon! “We’re so blessed,” he declared. “Life has been great.”
