Kelly Thiebaud’s Special Message to GH Fans
When Steve Burton returned as Jason, some fans hoped the writers would find a way to also bring Kelly Thiebaud back to GENERAL HOSPITAL as Britt. Sadly, as Jason learned in the March 26 episode, Britt was murdered, and her death will likely prove to be more permanent than his was. But Thiebaud is grateful for the support from her fans and reached out to them on Twitter/X to express her feelings.
“Hi everyone,” she wrote. “I know I’ve been absent on here. So much is changing in my life. Maybe soon I’ll find a way to talk about it all but I want to thank you for your messages and love for Britt. It makes me both sad and happy to read them. Sending you all love and hugs!” And she punctuated her post with a kissy-face emoji for good measure.
Thiebaud isn’t terribly active on Twitter/X, last posting on Feb. 23 when she reposted a clip a fan shared of Nikolas proposing to Britt back in 2014 and mourned the loss of actor Tyler Christopher. She posts a little more on Instagram, recently sharing the sad news that she had to say goodbye to her dog, Ranger, and sharing some photos from her modeling days.
When Thiebaud made her daytime debut as Dr. Britt Westbourne back in September 2012, she quickly became a fan favorite and after her 2015 exit, returned for occasional visits in the years that followed. Her comeback in September 2020 was more substantial — and she took home the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2022 — but once again, the actress decided to leave and Britt was tragically killed off in January 2023.
In addition to her work on GH, Thiebaud had a brief run as Zoey on DAYS OF OUR LIVES and appeared in episodes of STATION 19, and guested on MAGNUM P.I. In the spring of 2023, the actress moved to London to be closer to boyfriend PJ Harrison, and has been adjusting to her life in the UK.
Thiebaud has made visits back to the US, but GH fans are still hoping she’ll return to Port Charles one day… perhaps Britt has a twin sister no one knew about? Hey, in soaps, anything is possible!
