Theo and Erik Olson Say Goodbye to GENERAL HOSPITAL

Tags:

Having played GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos for most of their young lives, twin brothers Theo and Erik Olson have sadly parted ways with the ABC soap. In a lengthy Instagram post, the twins’ mother explained that when their family was presented with an “amazing” opportunity to move to France, the Olsons had to give up their role as Michael’s adorable son.

As their mother explained, after her husband received an incredible job offer located in Paris, the family had three months to pack up their lives in California and relocate to Europe. And they also “had to say goodbye to this once in a lifetime opportunity” the boys had in starring on GH. “It was fitting that Wiley’s 3rd birthday party was their last day; what a special way to say goodbye. While it is a blessing to be able to give the boys a new life in France, leaving GH was, still is and will always be, the most heartbreaking part of this massive decision and huge life change.”

Mom added that she had been “dreading the day” that she would have to make a social media post about Theo and Erik’s exit. “I know how many of you dearly love the boys and wanted them to grow up on GH. We want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support! The boys loved being Wiley, loved all the cast and crew who truly were (and always will be) family, and it’s been so sad hearing the boys ask when they get to go back.”

As a result of the Olsons’ move, GH has recast Wiley with twins Caleb and Kyler Ends. The 4-year-olds are no strangers to daytime. In addition to playing Jordan’s son, David, on DAYS OF OUR LIVES in 2019, the boys actually appeared in a handful of GH episodes as Maxie and Nathan’s son, James, that same year. “The super cute Ends twins won the lottery!” wrote the Olsons’ mom in her moving post. “We are so happy to welcome them to our beloved role!”

Before signing off, the Olsons’ mother thanked GH executive producer Frank Valentini, casting director Mark Teschner and other executives and crew members for giving the boys such an “unbelievable experience,” and thanked the many talented actors Theo and Erik worked with. “We will always cherish the moments we spent together.”

And finally, the Olsons’ mother wrote that the family will never forget the kindness the boys were shown by the soap’s viewers over the past few years. “Thank you to each of you who fell in love with our boys, who watched them grow up on [the] screen, who followed along on their acting journey, cheered them on in their role, and with whom I enjoyed interacting with on Instagram. We will forever be linked in our love for GH and as a part of the GH family. We will always love you! Au revoir!”

Please join us in wishing the Olson family all the best in their next adventure!
