Even During Cancer Treatment, Christian LeBlanc Keeps His Sense of Humor

Tags:

Back in October, Christian LeBlanc revealed that the reason he hadn’t been on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS for months was because he had been diagnosed with multiple myeloma in June and was receiving cancer treatment. And while Michael Baldwin returned to the screen at Thanksgiving, his portrayer continues to undergo treatment. But proving that laughter is the best medicine, the actor hasn’t lost his sense of humor!

On Nov. 30, LeBlanc shared a photo of himself sitting up in a hospital bed with his arms outstretched and a big smile on his face with the caption: “How to get discharged without really trying.” And as the word “Showtime” flashed at the bottom of the image, the audio of Angela Lansbury singing “Open a New Window” from the Broadway show Mame played.

A week later, on Dec. 7, The daytime star shared another pic of himself sitting in a chair under a blanket untethered from the IV stand at his side while eating a little snack after his treatment. On his head is a layered cold cap which is meant to help cool the scalp and prevent hair loss from the chemotherapy. And LeBlanc couldn’t resist quoting Sally Field’s iconic line from the movie Soapdish when she learned her soap character was being dressed in a turban: “Who am I, Gloria ******* Swanson?”

LeBlanc has also been working, sharing photos from the Y&R set throughout November. He made sure to grab selfies with J. Eddie Peck, who recently returned as Cole, as well as one with Colleen Zenk who made her return to daytime as the evil Jordan Howard. (LeBlanc and Zenk were co-stars on AS THE WORLD TURNS back in the ‘80s where he played Kirk McColl and she was Barbara Ryan!)

We’re glad to see that the cancer treatment continues to go well and that LeBlanc is keeping his spirits up throughout the whole thing!
