Michelle Stafford Offers a Sneak Peek at Her Emmy Dress!

The Daytime Emmy Awards are coming up on Friday, Dec. 15, and one of the best parts of the evening — aside from finding out who wins — is seeing all the fabulous fashions walking down the red carpet!

Michelle Stafford, who is nominated this year for Outstanding Lead Actress for her work as Phyllis on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, shared a quick glimpse of what she’s planning to wear to the Emmys. “Is it a dress or is it a doily?” she joked. “You are gonna decide. Get ready with me for the Emmys at 11:30 Pacific this Friday. Finally, the long-awaited Daytime Emmys. They are happening this Friday at 9 p.m. on CBS. I hope all of your favorite people win! See you here live at 11:30 Pacific Time!”

Set to some beautiful piano from “Just Give Me One More Day” by Alej, Stafford’s clip is heavily filtered to create what she called in the hashtag, “#cartoonmichelle.” But it does offer a peek at the lacy black dress she’ll be wearing to the 2023 Emmy ceremony. It is showing quite a bit of skin, but fans and friends were super supportive in the comments!

“If anyone can pull this off, it’s you, beauty,” declared Y&R co-star Tracey Bregman (Lauren). And of course, Stafford responded: “Um… you could.” Which is totally true!

Pal Christian LeBlanc (Michael, Y&R) commented with a string of heart emojis and Susan Walters (Diane, Y&R) threw in some fire emojis. And Lilly Melgar (ex-Lily, GENERAL HOSPITAL) expressed her jealousy, exclaiming: “I want this dress!”

If you want to watch Stafford get ready for the 50th Anniversary Daytime Emmy Awards, make sure to check out her Instagram starting at 2:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Dec. 15. Otherwise, keep an eye out for her when the ceremony is broadcast on CBS that night, and you can get a better look at her dress — and the others — in our special Emmy fashion gallery right here at!
