A Sneak Peek at Shemar Moore’s Return to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS

Tags:

As previously reported, Shemar Moore is returning to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS for a very special visit on Monday, May 8, as part of the soap’s extensive 50th-anniversary celebration. But now, in advance of his appearance, CBS has offered up a little sneak peek for fans!

In the episode, Malcolm returns to Genoa City for a special gathering in the new jazz lounge dedicated to Neil Winters to join the family in remembering the much-missed character. “When it came to the great Neil Winters, I show up,” Malcolm declares in the clip. “Whatever it takes.”

Devon then asks if Malcolm remembers his mother, Harmony, and the two reconnect as Malcolm declares Devon is a blessing to all his parents. And Harmony — formerly known as Yolanda — is once again being played by Chene Lawson, who originated the role back in June 2005.

Moore made his debut on Y&R back in 1994 and before his 2005 exit, earned three Daytime Emmy Award nominations during his run as Malcolm Winters, taking home the gold in 2000. When the character returned to the canvas in 2009, the role was recast with Darius McCrary for a couple of years. But Moore reclaimed it when he made visits in 2014 and 2019.

Since leaving the soap, Moore has found great success in film in primetime, appearing in movies like Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Sonic the Hedgehog 2, as well as starring in series like CRIMINAL MINDS and S.W.A.T.

Check out the clip right here and be sure to tune in Monday for the very special episode! (But maybe make sure you have some tissues handy…)
