Michael Easton Opens up About the Changes to Finn on GH (EXCLUSIVE)

As GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Finn has seen his world grow, many of the ticks portrayer Michael Easton gave the OCD doctor have fallen by the wayside. “Anna straightened him out or something,” the actor chuckled to Soaps In Depth. “We don’t see Roxie anymore and now, when I do things that I got away with doing before, [the powers that be] say it’s distracting. What do you mean it’s distracting? This is the character! So Finn can’t clean the silverware or do all the stuff he did. It can be frustrating.”

That said, it’s also the nature of soap operas — a medium in which characters evolve, sometimes by force. “You’re always trying to grab back to the character you set out to play, but it’s hard holding on to that in daytime,” he said. “We move off and change things.” And when it comes to Easton, in particular, he’s also literally played multiple characters since joining GH. “I’ve had all these different incarnations,” he says — referring to McBain, Caleb, Stephen, Silas, and now Finn. “God bless the cast for dealing with me!”
