AMC Alum Walt Willey Shares an Update on His Recovery

Tags:

The good news keeps on coming! ALL MY CHILDREN star Walt Willey (Jackson) asked his fans for prayers and good wishes as he underwent surgery on April 13. And now, just a week later, the actor is in full recovery mode!

“I’m ba-a-a-a-aack!” Willey happily announced on Twitter. “I find myself so grateful and humbled by your thoughts and prayers. I am happy to report that the surgery was indeed successful! I was discharged on Easter and am recuperating comfortably at home! Thank you all for your love and support at this critical moment!”

Willey’s daytime career began back in 1986 when he played Jim LaRusso on NBC sudser ANOTHER WORLD, and later that year, he joined the cast of RYAN’S HOPE as Joe Novak. But he is best known for playing Jackson Montgomery on AMC where his character became a favorite for his romance with Susan Lucci’s Erica Kane.

Although Willey did not go into details publicly about what kind of surgery he underwent, we’re glad to hear that it was successful and he’s recovering nicely at home. This news comes on the heels of his former AMC co-star Vincent Irizarry (David) reporting that his own recent surgery to reduce the swelling on his brain was also successful and he is on the mend as well.

Please join us in wishing Willey a very speedy recovery so he can be back on his feet again in no time!
