THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS Casts Laur Allen as Juliet! (EXCLUSIVE)
Genoa City is about to get a lot more exciting when Laur Allen joins the cast of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS as Juliet Helton on Tuesday, Feb. 28!
Soaps In Depth has learned exclusively that the actress will be playing the role of “a charming and confident” Brash & Sassy consultant who will be working easily with its power players. But does this mean she’ll be spending a lot of time with Billy or with Cane?
Allen described herself as half-Chineese and half-European on her website, adding, “Born to parents of opposite backgrounds, cultures, political views and religions, I was raised with an understanding and respect for the duality in everything.”
She confided that she was bitten by the acting bug in junior high school playing a talking daisy in a rendition of Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking-Glass. “As I stood in front of the whole school in my ill-fitted, partly spray-painted, larger than life foam headpiece,” she recalled, “I sold my soul to Hollywood.”

After graduating from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, Allen put down roots in Los Angeles, and was persuaded to run for Miss Los Angeles Chinatown. “To my surprise, I won,” she admitted. “As the first multi-ethnic queen in the pageant’s 47-year history, I was honored to be chosen as an ambassador for the Chinese community.”
Since returning from Hong Kong, where she participated in the Miss Chinese International Pageant, Allen has thrown herself into acting full-time, appearing in some short films and digital series. Y&R will be her daytime debut. Look for Juliet to make her first appearance at the end of February, and to appear in “multiple episodes.”
