GH Alum Alicia Leigh Willis Teases Her New Role

Tags:

Fans of GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Alicia Leigh Willis (ex-Courtney) can look forward to seeing the actress in a very different kind of role in the near future! “Can you guess what show I was working on here?” she teased with a dressing room mirror selfie looking super glam. “I’ll give you a hint. I was a hologram.”

Her first Instagram hashtags of “#actress,” “#selfie,” “#hairandmakeup,” and “#onset” weren’t much help, but “#fox” was a clear indication of the network and “#sethmcfarlane” pretty much gave it away. Since two of Seth McFarlane’s series on FOX are animated, she had to be shooting an appearance on his live-action sci-fi comedy THE ORVILLE! And sure enough, when some people guessed that series in the comments, she confirmed that was exactly where she’d landed a gig!

Courtney Matthews recently appeared as a spirit to guide her father, Mike, to the other side on GH, so a hologram isn’t too far removed. The actress had a small part in the second season premiere of THE ORVILLE that aired on Dec. 30, 2018. There has been no premiere date set for the third season, but it is scheduled to air on Hulu in late 2020 as it wouldn’t have been ready for a mid-season premiere on FOX.

Since leaving daytime, Willis has appeared on the primetime soap AMERICAN HEIRESS as well as Showtime’s THE L WORD. Fans have also enjoyed seeing her in TV movies like The Student, Baby Obsession, and Mommy’s Little Princess. Her newest movie, Double Kidnapped, co-starring Ashley Jones (ex-Parker, GH; Bridget, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL), is also due to air at the end of 2020.

Stay tuned for updates, and we’ll let you know when Willis’ episode of THE ORVILLE is available to stream on Hulu!
