Soap fans know Ashton Arbab is a talented actor from his run as Dev on GENERAL HOSPITAL, but now he’s showing off his skills behind the camera with the new movie Off My Shoulders, which he co-wrote and co-directed with his co-star, Michael Moroso!

“Can’t put into words how proud of everyone I am from the crew to the cast to all of the people involved in making this vision come to life,” Arbab shared on Instagram with a series of behind-the-scenes photos and videos. “It has been a dream of mine to write a screenplay, put it on paper, gather a group of people who all believe in the project, and finally shoot it.

“Through a lot of rewrites and a lot of late nights, couldn’t have asked for a better dancing partner in this endeavor than my brother Michael Moroso,” he continued. “And to my longtime friend Jack Serkin for capturing this project with what myself and Michael had envisioned through the three months of writing and preproduction, thank you so much.”

The short film stars Arbab as Elijah, a young man who turns to drugs following the death of his brother. Moroso plays a character called Fallen Angel who, as you can see in the trailer below, pushes Elijah down the dark path. can a counselor played by Josef Urban help save his life before it’s too late?

Arbab teases that the full film is coming soon, so check back here at SoapsInDepth.com for future updates and we’ll be sure to let you know when and where you can watch Off My Shoulders!
