Chad Duell and Courtney Hope Split Up

Sad news to report: Chad Duell (Michael, GENERAL HOSPITAL) and Courtney Hope (Sally, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) have split up. The couple tied the knot after five years of dating on Oct. 23, but have quietly separated.

Fans grew suspicious on Dec. 13 when they noticed that both Duell and Hope’s Instagram accounts had seemingly been scrubbed of photos of the other. While neither actor has publicly addressed the split, the news was reported by Soap Opera Digest. 

Duell and Hope were introduced by his former GH castmate Bryan Craig (Morgan), and the couple began dating and then moved in together to share a beautiful home. Five years after they first began dating, Duell popped the question in a romantic beachside proposal on Valentine’s Day 2021. “Forever with this man is a dream come true,” Hope said at the time of their engagement.

The couple tied the knot on Oct. 23 in an elaborate gothic-themed wedding where they wore red and the guests donned gothic and steampunk outfits to celebrate the union in a unique atmosphere. “Thank you so much to everyone who came out last night to celebrate with [us]!” Hope declared. “And thank you guys for committing so hard to our goth theme! The amount of black nail polish, guy-liner, chokers, corsets, and canes were more than we could’ve asked for!” Unfortunately, just over a month later, Duell and Hope have quietly gone their separate ways.

This was Hope’s first marriage. Duell married Taylor Novak in September 2012 but the marriage was annulled just months later.
