Evan Hofer Previews Dex and Josslyn’s Future on GENERAL HOSPITAL

Now that his association with Michael is out in the open, Dex’s life is in what you might call a state of flux right now on GENERAL HOSPITAL! But even if Sonny lets the guy live following this betrayal, what does this mean for Dex’s relationship with Josslyn?

“Because he can’t put her in danger,” Evan Hofer explained to Soap Opera Digest, “and he knows Sonny wouldn’t endanger her, but also, Sonny was willing to kill him despite her. Dex has never loved anyone the way he loves Joss before, or had anyone love him the way that Joss does. And the idea of her having to mourn him, I think, starts to raise the warning flags in his head.”

But while Dex believes that leaving Port Charles entirely is the best course of action for himself, it’s not necessarily what’s best for Josslyn. “And I think Joss is thinking, ‘Okay, how do we make this work? He obviously didn’t kill you; my mom is not gonna let him kill you. We can find a way to make this work,’” the actor mused. “While Dex is like, ‘This is really bad an I don’t know that there is any way we can make this work. Sonny wants me dead. How am I just going to stay here and be with you like nothing happened?”

Regardless of what the future holds for the young lovers, one thing is for certain — Dex would do whatever it takes to protect the woman he loves. “He loves her so much that he’ll put himself through anything,” Hofer declared, “he’ll put his own feelings and his own well-being aside for her to try to protect her as much as he can. Her well-being and her heart are far more important to him than his own life. He loves her more than life itself.”
