Jacqueline Grace Lopez Says Goodbye to GENERAL HOSPITAL

After Linc was exposed at the Nurses Ball and Blaze emotionally revealed his crimes, many viewers thought that would be the last we saw of Jacqueline Grace Lopez as the singer on GENERAL HOSPITAL. But the following week, Blaze appeared at Chase’s reinstatement hearing to sing his praises (so to speak!). And now that episode is the actress’ last… for now!

“And with that, my arc on GH has come to an end,” Lopez shared in a heartfelt Instagram post shortly after her final episode aired. “I remember feeling a little overwhelmed walking off set this day. Who knew a role that started last October would change my life in so many ways?”

Lopez actually made her daytime debut years ago in a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance as a babysitter on GH, but returned to the soap to play the singer named Blaze in 2022, first appearing in the Nov. 3 episode. She continued to make sporadic appearances in the months that followed as Chase and Brook Lynn hoped to rescue her from Linc by exposing the sleazy manager’s history of sexual harassment.

“I am eternally grateful for the friends I’ve made, the amount I’ve grown as an actress, and for the fans who’ve reached out with such warmth,” Lopez expressed. “Special thanks to my main crew, Josh [Swickard, Chase], Dan [Buran, ex-Linc], and Amanda [Setton, Brook Lynn], who took me in without question and made me feel welcome from day one.

“This amazing TV family works so hard to deliver the best in daytime drama,” she continued. “I’m so honored to have been a little part of it. To everyone in front of and behind the camera, thank you for your kindness and inspiration. I have learned and gained so much (even my cutie Nurses Ball dress!)”

Although some fans noted some chemistry between Chase and Blaze, it was inevitable he’d eventually find his way back to Brook Lynn. And with Chase now reinstated as a police officer, it would seem that his career as a singer is finally over, so Blaze won’t be needed for any future duets. However, there’s always the possibility that the singer could pop back for a visit at some point in the future, a possibility that Lopez is looking forward to.

“Even the dead come back in soaps,” she joked, “so for now I’ll say, ‘See you around.’ Happy 60th, GH. Thank you for letting me be a part of the magic.”
