Kimberly J. Brown Reveals How She Fell in Love With Halloweentown Co-Star Daniel Kountz
Fans who remember Kimberly J. Brown (ex-Chloe, GENERAL HOSPITAL; Marah, GUIDING LIGHT) as Marie Piper from the Halloweentown movies on the Disney Channel will also recognize her boyfriend, Daniel Kountz, as he starred as Kal in Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge! The actress took to Instagram with a video response to the question: “What’s something that sounds fake about your relationship but is real?”
“We first met 20 years ago filming a movie together,” Brown recalled of shooting the first Halloweentown sequel for Disney. “Where our characters flirted a little bit in the beginning, but then I found out that he was my family’s arch-nemesis and basically hated him for the rest of the movie!
“In real life, we had no romantic feelings for each other at all while we were working together,” the GH and GL alum added. “And then didn’t see or talk to each other for at least a good 10 years or so. Then reconnected a few years ago to film some comedy sketches for my YouTube channel and… unexpectedly fell in love!”
It may have taken a while for Cupid’s arrow to strike the pair, but Brown and Kountz have been happily in love for years now, so it seems good things come to those who wait! “It’s funny how life surprises you, sometimes, isn’t it?” she marveled.
