The End of Nina and Sonny on GH? – Cynthia Watros Speaks Out!

It was the moment that some GENERAL HOSPITAL fans had been waiting ages for and that others had been dreading — Sonny learning the truth that Nina had been the one who turned Carly and Drew in to the SEC. As more and more people learned her secret, Nina had intended to confess to her husband before anyone else could spill the beans, but in the end, hearing it directly from her probably wouldn’t have changed Sonny’s reaction one bit.

It would seem that Nina’s lies have permanently destroyed her marriage to Sonny, but might there still be a chance he could find it in his heart to forgive her and take her back? After Nina’s attempt to talk to him ended with Sonny slamming the door in her face, it seems unlikely.

“There’s no going back to Sonny right now,” Cynthia Watros (Nina) admitted to Soap Opera Digest. “He’s so angry. I don’t think that she feels like all hope is lost but she doesn’t know quite how to go forward or if there is a path to getting the relationship back. It really is all in Sonny’s hands. I mean, it’s up to him. 

“They’re both still wearing their wedding rings,” she noted. “So there is a glimmer of hope. But what that path is, um… she doesn’t know. She’s just kind of living day by day right now.”

Worse, Nina was finally making some progress in forging a mother/daughter bond with Willow when the awful truth came out and now that relationship, too, could be irrevocably destroyed. “It’s devastating,” Watros admitted. “I think losing Willow – and losing Wiley and Amelia — is absolutely devastating. I think right now she’s in sort of a bit of denial and maybe not looking at it 100% because it is so painful, and so she’s distracting herself with other things.”

With nearly everyone in Port Charles against her right now, Nina sure has her work cut out for her if she intends to make things right with those she’s wronged.
