Learn Soap Secrets From Emmy-Winning Writer Dave Rupel!

Get a peek behind the scenes at how soaps are created when Emmy-winning writer Dave Rupel sits down for a live chat in The Locher Room on Wednesday, March 15, at 3 p.m. ET!

Already a big soap fan, Rupel moved to Los Angeles in the mid-’80s and began working for Mary Tyler Moore Studios. After writing his first script for IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT in 1989, he then wrote for some other primetime series before moving to daytime in 1998 when he was hired as a breakdown writer for GENERAL HOSPITAL. He won his first Daytime Emmy Award as part of the Outstanding Writing Team of GUIDING LIGHT in 2007, and his second in 2019 when he was writing for THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. He was also part of the GH writing team when it notched Writers Guild Awards in 2017 and 2018!

In addition to his work in daytime, Rupel has also worked in reality TV on shows like THE REAL WORLD, TEMPTATION ISLAND, and THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ORANGE COUNTY and BEVERLY HILLS! So he’ll have a lot to talk about — don’t miss it!
