B&B’s Katherine Kelly Lang Celebrates Her Recovery!
Could you ever imagine a scenario where THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Brooke would spend a day in the great outdoors celebrating a major life milestone with Sheila, of all people? Neither can we! But in real life, that is exactly what the women who play the longtime daytime rivals did when they headed to the Mammoth Mountain ski area in California during a recent day off!
Off camera, Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) and Kimberlin Brown (Sheila) are longtime friends, so it was only natural that they decided to do something fun together! They were joined by co-star Matthew Atkinson (Thomas) and his girlfriend Brytnee Ratledge for their day on the slopes, as well as Hollis W. Chambers, who plays Il Giardino bartender Paul. “B&B has taken over Mammoth Mountain!” Brown declared on Instagram, saying in her hashtag that they had the best day ever. “Not only did Katherine and Hollis join me, but Matt and his amazing girlfriend Brytnee joined us, too!”
As it turned out, the ski trip was both sentimental and monumental for Lang: Her father, Keith R. Wegeman, was a champion skier, and the B&B star had broken her ankle less than a year ago, requiring surgery and months of rehabilitation. “I am so happy to be skiing again!” Lang raved on Instagram, sharing several pictures from the group’s outing. “I grew up coming to Mammoth every weekend. My dad was an Olympic skier and he taught us kids at the age of three.”
It had been a while since Lang had used any ski gear, but she seemed to pick it right back up again! “I haven’t skied for at least 15 years,” she admitted, adding that she was also on the mountain again for the first time since “coming back from my ankle break with rods and screws.”
Avid skiers Brown and Chambers were both huge helpers as Lang tackled her line down the mountain. “Thanks to Kimberlin and Hollis for all the ski tips and support!” she wrote. “Such a blast!”
In a second post, Lang shared that she was having “so much fun with Matt and Brytnee, too! Thanks, Kimberlin, for hosting us! So incredibly sweet!”
