Gregory Harrison Opens up About a Gregory and Alexis Pairing on GH

When Gregory Harrison took over the role of Gregory Chase on GENERAL HOSPITAL from James Read back in November 2020, the character was primarily involved in the family drama of learning that his wife, Jackie Templeton, had an affair with his son, Finn, and Chase could either be his brother or his son! (Chase and Finn were eventually revealed to be brothers all along — phew!)

But recently, the actor has been sharing some scenes with Nancy Lee Grahn and sparks have been flying between Gregory and Alexis. “Frank [Valentini, GH’s executive producer] said, ‘I think the two of you together will be great,’” Harrison revealed in a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest. “’She’s really smart and we’ve got some really smart conversations for you guys to have, this kind of intellectual flirting.’

“And when I got the script, he was right,” he continued. “It was some really good dialogue. You could see that there was fire, that both of us were passionate about our intellectual ideas. That’s the kind of thing I like to watch — smart dialogue between two people who obviously have an attraction to each other but they’re on the different side of an issue.”

The verbal sparring between Gregory and Alexis could definitely lead to more!ABC

Unfortunately, Grahn’s vacation time is going to push pause on the budding Alexis/Gregory relationship, but Harrison is definitely looking forward to seeing where these characters go from here. Especially since it means working more with the multiple Daytime Emmy Award winner. “Nancy is extraordinary,” he exclaims. “Her experience shows.”
