Soap alum Jack Wagner has spoken out for the first time since his son, Harrison, tragically passed away last month, sharing a heartfelt and emotional message with his fans. In an Instagram post on June 22, the actor expressed his gratitude for all of the messages of condolences that he has received from fans in the weeks since Harrison, 27, lost his battle with addiction on June 6.

“Thank you all so much for the love and support you’ve sent me,” Wagner captioned his video message. “It’s helped me more than you’ll ever know.”

The actor — best known to daytime audiences as GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Frisco and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Nick — was traveling to Canada to begin production on the upcoming season of the Hallmark Channel drama WHEN CALLS THE HEART when he filmed the video message at the airport gate moments before boarding a flight. “Thank you all so much for the love and kindness that you’ve sent,” Wagner stated again in the video clip. “I can’t tell you how much it’s meant to me.”

He added that returning to work has given him something to look forward to. “Getting ready to head up to Vancouver to start Season 10 of WHEN CALLS THE HEART,” said Wagner, who plays lawman Bill Avery in the drama. “Beyond excited and grateful for that.”

Harrison, the younger son of Jack and his ex-wife, Kristina Wagner (Felicia, GH), was tragically found dead in a Los Angeles parking lot. Following their son’s death, the Wagners founded the Harrison Wagner Scholarship Fund with the New Life House Recovery Community. The organization provides a community of support and structured sober living for young men struggling with substance abuse and addiction.

“Again, thank you for all the love,” Wagner concluded his heartfelt message. “Right back at ya.”
